frequently asked questions
Is there a warranty on Sunshine Slippers?
Sunshine Slippers are warranted to operate as designed (following the instructions in the operating manual) and be free from defects for a period of one year from date of purchase. If your product fails to perform satisfactorily during the warranty period due to defects in materials or workmanship, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

How hot do Sunshine Slippers get?
Unlike a portable heater which can get really hot when blowing on your feet (as well as heating up the entire room and making noise), Sunshine Slippers insoles are designed to reach 130 degrees on the High setting (red), 110 degrees on Medium (blue), and 95 degrees on Low (green). Depending on your body’s circulation, it could take more or less time for your feet to reach the optimum temperature. We recommend preheating Sunshine Slippers for about 10 minutes before you put them on. More details can be found in the Sunshine Slippers Operating Manual.
Do I wear socks with Sunshine Slippers?
Sunshine Slippers are designed to be the equivalent of having bare feet inside a “blanket tent” with a heat source. Socks can constrict circulation, so for best results put your bare feet into the slippers so they contact the heated insole directly. The temperature is regulated so it feels toasty on the sole of your foot, but not hot. This continuous warmth permeates your toes and feet in a way that is comfortable and non-distracting. The slipper helps to contain the heat. When your feet are warm enough, you can change the heat setting to Medium or Low, or turn it off with just a push of the power button.
How long do the batteries last?
In normal use, 4 to 6 hours, depending on the most used heat setting. Sunshine Slippers come with two sets of batteries so you’ll always have a fresh set to swap out during a break. The used set can be fully recharged in four hours.
The overall life of the Sunshine Slippers batteries is 300-500 charging cycles (better results are obtained if batteries are charged before being totally drained). Depending on how often you use them, they should last over two years before considering replacement. Batteries at the time of this writing cost $50 a set.
Why are there travel restrictions for the batteries?
Sunshine Slippers use Lithium-Polymer batteries, similar to the type of batteries that power most cell phones and mobile computing devices. Because of past problems with one cell phone company’s battery, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) implemented safety precautions for these types of batteries. They cannot be placed in checked baggage and must be carried on the plane with you.

Can I wear my Sunshine Slippers around the house?
Sunshine Slippers were designed for keeping your feet at the optimum temperature while seated or standing/walking for short periods, so they work that way wherever you wish to use them. However, by design, the slipper/boot itself is larger than your foot so as not to constrain the foot in any way, which makes walking around in Sunshine Slippers a bit like walking in your parents’ shoes when your were a child. That said, you’ll probably be seated most of the time using Sunshine Slippers and will walk about only when necessary.
